Christopher Martell has presented at national and international conferences on behavioral activation and other topics. He has addressed issues of affirmative and inclusive psychotherapy with lesbian, gay and bisexual clients at the American Psychological Association. He has also specifically addressed the application of cognitive-behavioral therapies as affirming LGBT clients and providing help for depression, anxiety, and couples relationship problems for LGBT clients and others.
As well as participating in symposia, panel discussions, and invited addresses at conferences, Christopher Martell has conducted half-day and full-day workshops on Behavioral Activation Treatment for Depression in the United States, Sweden, and England. Workshops include a presentation of current research on Behavioral Activation, a presentation of the model and specific techniques, and videotape examples with real and simulated clients.
He is also available to provide workshops on LGBT affirmative CBT and Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy. These workshops are usually half-day workshops.
